The first Ultim and the first Imoca to cross the finish line were designed by Guillaume Verdier using FINE/Marine CloudPower. NUMECA Int.'s FINE™/Marine software includes ISIS-CFD, the marine flow solver developed at LHEEA (Centrale Nantes/CNRS) by the METHRIC research group.
This flow calculation software is designed for the numerical modelling of turbulent flows of viscous incompressible fluids around geometries of arbitrary complexity. The significance of the software lies in its various fields of application, in particular in the maritime sector for design and optimisation.
