19th edition of the Hydrodynamics Days to be held at Centrale Nantes in November 2024
The Centrale Nantes campus will play host to the 19th edition of the Hydrodynamics Days (Journées de l'Hydrodynamique), organised by the Research Laboratory in Hydrodynamics, Energetics & Atmospheric Environment (LHEEA) from Tuesday 26 to Thursday 28 November 2024.
From November 26, 2024 to November 28, 2024All day
From November 26, 2024 to November 28, 2024All day
Every two years since 1987, the Hydrodynamics Days (Journées de l'Hydrodynamique) have brought together French-speaking researchers and engineers in marine and naval hydrodynamics in the civil and military fields to present and discuss the most recent research work. The topics covered include:
Marine and naval hydrodynamics
Coastal hydrodynamics
Waves and oscillations
Breaking waves
Innovative ships/sailboats
Renewable marine energies
Floating wind power
Fluid-structure interaction
Experimental techniques
Advanced simulation methods
The 2024 edition includes:
Special "Pierre Ferrant" session to mark his retirement: you can direct your contribution to this session when you submit your abstract.
Conference - debate on "decarbonising maritime transport": an opportunity for discussion between socio-economic players and participants on the possible contributions of research to decarbonising maritime transport.
Guided tours of the ocean engineering tanks and wind tunnels at Centrale Nantes, as well as ship bridge simulators at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Maritime.
