This book outlines current expertise with regard to the potential of wave energy as well as recovery processes and technologies.

It places particular emphasis on the problem of positioning wave energy on the electricity market, the development of recovery technologies from a historical perspective and the energy performance of the devices. This book is intended for students, researchers, developers, industrialists and decision-makers seeking a comprehensive view of the field and its key components.

Aurélien Babarit graduated from the Centrale Nantes engineering programme in 2002 and holds a PhD in Fluid Dynamics and Transfers. Since 2005, he has been working at the Research Laboratory in Hydrodynamics, Energetics & Atmospheric Environment - LHEEA (Centrale Nantes/CNRS-UMR6598).

He took responsibility for the Marine Energy and Ocean research group in 2012. He was a visiting researcher at NTNU (Norway) in 2010-2011 and at NREL (USA) in 2016. Since 2016, he has headed the Marine Renewable Energies Research Group (GDR CNRS 3763 EMR) and is accredited to supervise research.

The book is available at the bookseller Eyrolles in Paris and online. The e-book is on sale directly on the publisher's website: iste-editions.fr
